Christine with Caleb and Eva
Being a full-time mum, it is helpful using the ‘My Day’ chart to consider how to be purposeful in growing my children’s character whilst developing a routine that promotes security and fun. The magnets help inspire me when I’m planning the week or am just out of ideas. We had customized magnets made to include things like ‘Making for others’ which I try to use before ‘Guests’ or ‘Birthdays’ to encourage Caleb to be kind and sharing.
My favourite magnet is ‘Sibling play’, which is a calm and positive time to focus on Eva. Caleb’s favourite magnet is probably ‘TV time’, which he enthusiastically points to while shouting, “Murray!”(from The Wiggles).
The magnets have helped me be proactive in trying to avoid conflict – I prompt Caleb daily with the ‘Brush teeth’ magnet! Caleb doesn’t always cope well with change, so using the magnets have been helpful in highlighting special things that are coming up and remembering what we can be thankful for.
We really enjoy the chart and magnets and it’s a fun reminder to be intentional with my kids each day as I open the fridge!
NB: The magnets that Christine has mentioned will be available as a new pack in early December.
