Our friend 'Leggy' the frog

We have a frog! We didn't buy it and it certainly wouldn't have been my choice in pet!

The frog has been living in a storage box that houses the kids bikes, in the backyard. He has been living there for over a year now.

Every now and then we find him in odd places around the backyard, but he always seems to go back to the storage box....

My little billie was very game last week and for the first time, picked up the frog and proceeded to name him 'Leggy'.

Leggy then proceeded to have a tour of our backyard and sat so tamely on little billies hands for the tour. He even weed in little billies hand, to which created squeals, initially of surprise and eventually delight.... only little boys could find delight in that, surely!

Miss Little Billie is desperate to have a hold of 'Leggy' but just like me, she just isn't game enough, yet.

I have googled trying to find out what type of frog it is. I haven't found out what it is, but I do feel fairly safe to rule out that it is a toad at least! LOL.

So it makes me think.... family pets. Do you have a family pet? What kind of pet do you recommend and how old were your little billies when you introduced them?
